Registration Cost
• $125 per player *$20 sibling discount for each additional child (up to 8 players per family)
Need-based scholarships are available
East Madison Girls Softball teams participate in the Windmill League.
Typically an 8-week season with 4 "Home" games at EMLL and 4 "Away" games at another team's location within 25-40 mins of Madison (e.g., Middleton, Waunakee, Cottage Grove, Lake Mills).
The Windmill League Tournament is in Watertown.

April Optional Practice Nights (U10-U14)
Dates: Tues & Thurs – April 28, 30
Location: EMLL Skinned Field
Practice Times:
U10: 5:15 PM – 6:30 PM
U12 & U14: 6:30 PM – 7:45 PM
For U12/U14, April will be co-op style practices with players working through skill stations to build fundamentals and get back into the flow before the season.
Attendance is optional. We understand many players are finishing up other spring sports.
Team practices will continue on Tuesdays and Thursdays once we move into May, with similar timing and minor adjustments to make sure all teams have field space.

WHAT REGISTRATION INCLUDES
Softball registration includes:

• EMLL cookout and equipment swap
League fees also help cover umpires, field maintenance, equipment, and league operations that keep the season running smoothly.
Players only need to supply softball pants, cleats (no metal), and a glove. EMLL also maintains shared equipment for players who are new to the sport.

NEW FOR 2026 – ROOKIE (U8/U10) SOFTBALL SKILLS SESSIONS
EMLL is introducing Rookie Softball Skills Sessions, designed specifically for younger players U8 or U10 who haven't played previously but want to learn the fundamentals of softball in a fun and supportive environment.
Program Details
Registration Cost: $65
• Five 90-min sessions,
• Weekend Sat Morning Sessions June-July
• No session June 13th or July 4th
Sessions will take place on the following Saturday mornings from 9:30 - 11am
June 6, June 20, June 27, July 11, and July 18
Participants Receive
• EMLL Softball visor and shirt
• Free player tickets to EMLL outings with the Madison Nightmares/Mallards
Sessions focus on throwing, catching, hitting, fielding, base running, game rules, and introducing the fundamentals of the game.
We try to end each session with a fun unscored scrimmage to apply the lessons learned during each practice.
We also hope to coordinate a friendly end-of-session scrimmage against another local team to give players a fun introduction to live game play.
COACHES & VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
EMLL Softball relies on volunteers to support our players and teams.
We currently have Head Coaches returning, but we are still looking for volunteers to help in roles such as:
• Assistant & Base Coaches
• Team Managers & Coordinators helping with communication or occasional carpool coordination
• Game Day Volunteers (scoreboard/scorebook)
No prior coaching experience is required and roles can be flexible depending on your availability.
